FAQ

How do you prepare files for printing?

Correct file preparation is very important to ensure a good quality product, within the time requested.

Before you start, find out what your printer needs from you.

Make sure that you use the right software to start the project in. Try to avoid software like Microsoft Word, Publisher, PowerPoint or Works, etc., as they are NOT suitable for the task.

Make sure that all your colour and pictures are CMYK, NOT RGB or Spot Colours.

Make sure that all your pages, that require Bleed, have bleed.

Be careful that you are only using Rich Black where needed, as fonts and areas often look bolder when Rich Black is used.

Make sure that you are using proper Crop Marks.

Make sure that all your Fonts are fully embedded, not Subset.

Make sure that you only have High Resolution pictures in the document.

Make sure that your page is the correct size.

If your project involves folding, please make sure that it folds correctly.

Make sure that you supply us with your final file, not 10 files that still need to be combined, this way you can make sure that all the pages are in the correct order.

Supply the cover as a separate file, as this avoids any confusion.

Please, we ask nicely, let the imposition be our problem, as we know what we need.

Please ONLY supply the files on the CD, Memory Stick, etc., that need to be printed to avoid any confusion.

If there is more than one order at a time, please put them in different folders and directories.
